At the end of July, the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) said goodbye to co-founder and CEO Emily Slater. Having been with the Alliance since its very first meeting in 2011, Emily leaves behind an enormous body of work and an impressive legacy.
The MMHA team wishes Emily all the very best for her new role as CEO of the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) and thanks her for her compassionate leadership and strong vision.
At the start of August, the MMHA warmly welcomed Justin Irwin as the new interim CEO. Justin combines interim senior management with other consultancy projects and brings a wealth of charity experience including from the mental health and early years’ sectors. He has been an interim CEO at MMHA member organisations Bipolar UK and the Parent-Infant Foundation, as well as Bliss and The Family and Childcare Trust. He has also held senior roles within Childline, SANE and the Young Women’s Trust, amongst others.
