This week the PANDAS Foundation (Pre and Postnatal Depression Advice and Support) are launching and hosting the first Pre & Postnatal Depression Awareness Week (#PNDAW16) in the UK. Together with their supporters they will be highlighting perinatal mental illnesses, the symptoms and how people can get the help they need. PANDAS are an MMHA member who support individuals, their families and carers suffering pre and postnatal mental illnesses via their helpline, email, online community and support groups.
#PNDAW16 will be raising awareness in order to support those currently suffering, to reach those that have yet to become aware that the way they are feeling is an illness, and to urge them to get the necessary support.
During the week, PANDAS will be featuring tips and advice for those suffering with pre or postnatal mental illness as well as tips for family and friends supporting others. There will also be blogs written by PANDAS’ supporters, volunteers and service users, highlighting personal experiences and self-care.
