World Maternal Mental Health Day – 4th May

If you’re looking for inspiration on what to do for World MMH Day, here are a selection of activities from some of our members:

The Breastfeeding Network will be promoting the maternal mental health page of the BfN website, preparing fact sheets on maternal mental health and signposting to other organisations. They’ll be part of the twitter conversations and inviting people via Facebook to share their stories related to breastfeeding and mental health.

Staff, volunteers and Trustees at Acacia Family Support are on board with World MMH Day. On 4th May they will be making the most of their community-based befriending service where mums and trained volunteers will be in attendance. Acacia will be baking a huge iced cake with World MMH Day written on it to celebrate that #maternalMHMatters. They have invited mums from the group and the local media to participate in a photo opportunity

Postpartum Support International will be putting up a poster to show that #maternalMHmatters

Perinatal Mental Health Partnership UK have already started tweeting #maternalMHmatters

Mothers At Home Matter have been promoting World MMH Day amongst their European colleagues.

The Local Government Association will also be tweeting on the day using #maternalMHmatters

UK and Ireland Marce Society have written to the Welsh Government for their support on World MMH Day.

The NCT’s social and digital team will be supporting World MMH Day and NCT practitioners and branches are also being encouraged to get involved on 4th May.

The Big White Wall are writing a blog looking at digital technolocgy and its potential to impact maternal mental health.
