We are working on a co-production opportunity with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, who are reviewing a range of resources on perinatal mental illness with involvement from the MMHA Lived Experience Champions to ensure they reflect real, lived experiences.
This work involves reviewing short documents and attending workshops to feed back on clarity and depth of information, the tone, and understanding. The perinatal mental health themes are:
• Postpartum psychosis
• Perinatal OCD
• Perinatal Mental illness for carers
• Using lithium in pregnancy
• Interacting with children's social services and safeguarding around pregnancy
• Using or considering using antipsychotic medication in pregnancy
• Eating disorders in pregnancy
The aim of the project is to ensure the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ perinatal mental health resources reflect real, lived experiences.
You can read all of the RCPsych’s patient information resources on their website.
