More than 1 in 10 women develop a mental health problem during their pregnancy or in the first year after the birth of their child. The Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) is a UK wide charity with over 90 member organisations committed to improving mental health outcomes for women during pregnancy and the first year of their child’s life.  Founded in 2011 and becoming a charity in 2017 the MMHA achieves change by bringing all those interested in in maternal mental health together, to speak with one voice; by campaigning for change; by disseminating evidence of the impact of maternal mental health problems and by supporting local systems to improve care and support.

Today we have eight trustees including our Chair Luciana Berger and eight members of staff. Our  Honorary President is Dr Alain Gregoire. As part of our strategy to promote equality, diversity and inclusion we particularly welcome applications from marginalised communities as they are underrepresented on our Board of trustees. We also want to ensure that our Board better represents the communities that we serve. All our trustees share the responsibility take action on equality, diversity and inclusion as well as fulfilling the core requirements of trustees.
