Association of South Asian Midwives

The Association of South Asian Midwives (ASAM) is a UK-based professional network and social enterprise working to improve maternity and perinatal outcomes for South Asian women and families. We support, connect and develop South Asian midwives and maternity professionals, while influencing policy, research and practice to address structural inequities, racism and language barriers in maternity and perinatal mental health care. ASAM works across education, workforce development, research and advocacy, partnering with communities and system leaders to drive safer, culturally responsive maternity services.
