Home-Start is a national family support charity that helps parents to build better lives for their children. Last year Home-Start supported 78,900 children in 43,692 families, in communities across the UK.
Home-Start’s relational compassionate support offers practical and emotional help to parents and carers in communities across the UK. This can be through being connected with a trained Home-Start volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them, or, through a number of different group-based activities.
Home-Start began supporting families in Leicester in 1973. In the following 50 years, Home-Start has grown to a network of around 180 local charities working with families in communities across the UK, supported by a central body, Home-Start UK.
We want to ensure that no parent/carer or family feels alone in the critical task of raising children.
