Kinship is the leading national charity for all kinship families – the grandparents and siblings, the aunts, uncles and family friends who step up to raise children when their parents can’t. Since 2002 we have worked with and for kinship care families towards our vision for a society in which kinship families are recognised, valued and supported. We recognise the profound commitment and love that kinship carers have for the children they care for.
We support kinship carers in their homes and communities, giving advice and helping them work through problems to find the best way forward. We connect carers together in our national community and network of local support groups. We help professionals understand kinship families and improve support for them. Through our research and campaigns, we make sure kinship care is understood and that government knows what changes are needed.
